About the International Workshop
Quantum technology is reshaping our understanding of the physical world and unlocking unprecedented capabilities across science and industry. By harnessing the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics—entanglement, superposition, tunneling, and more—this rapidly evolving, interdisciplinary field is propelling transformative innovations in areas such as quantum computing, ultra-secure cryptography, quantum simulations, high-precision measurement, quantum sensing and imaging, energy harvesting, space navigation, and even gravitational wave detection.
The influence of quantum technologies transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries, with far-reaching implications for critical sectors like space exploration, sustainable energy, nanomanufacturing, semiconductors, and advanced laser systems. Pioneering research is also beginning to explore the convergence of quantum biology and technology, holding the potential to revolutionize immunology, diagnostics, and medical therapies.

This workshop will serve as a dynamic forum for the exchange of knowledge, the encouragement of interdisciplinary collaboration, and the advancement of cutting-edge verticals within quantum technologies, including quantum computation, quantum communication, quantum sensing and metrology, quantum materials, modern spectroscopy, and quantum-enhanced interferometry for gravitational and precision measurements.
Key themes to be explored at IWQT-2025 include:
Quantum Computation
Quantum Communication
Quantum Sensing and Metrology
Quantum Materials
Modern Spectroscopy
Gravitational Wave Astronomy
The workshop will feature keynote addresses and tutorials by world-renowned quantum physicists, along with technical sessions showcasing the latest advancements and experimental breakthroughs. Special sessions will be dedicated to oral and poster competitions, providing a platform for emerging researchers to present their work and gain valuable feedback.
Opportunities for interdisciplinary networking and collaborative engagement will be central to IWQT-2025, supporting the formation of new partnerships and the nurturing of next-generation quantum technologies.
By bridging expertise across academia, industry, and policy, IWQT-2025 aims to accelerate the journey from quantum principles to real-world applications—inspiring the innovations that will define the future.
Banaras Hindu University
Founded in 1916 by Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, with support from Dr. Annie Besant, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is a globally renowned institution and a symbol of knowledge and innovation. Established under the BHU Act 1915, this premier Central University has played a pivotal role in India's progress, nurturing freedom fighters, scholars, artists, scientists, and technologists.
Spread across 1,300 acres in Varanasi, with an additional 2,700-acre campus in Mirzapur, BHU houses the esteemed Bharat Kala Bhavan museum and a 927-bed modern hospital. With 15,000+ students, 1,700 faculty members, and 8,000 staff, it fosters inclusivity and attracts scholars from across the globe. Offering world-class education, research, sports, and cultural opportunities, BHU continues to lead in intellectual and global integration, shaping the future of knowledge and innovation.

Local Cultural Insights
Varanasi, also known as Banaras or Kashi, is one of the world's oldest living cities, captivating scholars, saints, and travelers for over 3,000 years. Mark Twain aptly remarked, “Banaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend.”
Nestled on the banks of the sacred Ganga, Varanasi is a cradle of spirituality, learning, and culture. It is home to Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his first sermon, and is revered in Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism and Theosophy. The city’s legacy thrives through institutions like Banaras Hindu University (BHU), founded by Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, and its rich traditions of philosophy, music, arts, and crafts. Famous for its exquisite silks and brocades, Varanasi remains a hub of trade and craftsmanship.
Blending ancient wisdom with modern advancements, Varanasi provides an inspiring setting for academic gatherings. Engaging in scholarly discussions here is not just intellectually enriching but also an unforgettable experience amidst the city’s spiritual aura and cultural grandeur.
